I speak for the trees.

"Mister!" he said with a sawdusty sneeze,
"I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.
I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.
And I'm asking you, sir, at the top of my lungs" -
he was very upset as he shouted and puffed-
"What's that THING you've made out of my Truffula tuft?"

- The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

and here is an artist that makes cool things out of reused corrugated cardboard.

The Once-ler's problem was poor resources identification. The Truffula Tree wasn't what he used for the Thneed, which everyone, of course, knows we all need. What he should have done was devised a way of harvesting Truffula Tufts, without damaging the trees and offered the Lorax a position as personal manager. The Lorax could have organised the Brown Barbaloots into a work Co-op, harvesting Tufts in their OH&S approved Barbaloot Suits. The Humming Fish could head up research and development, genetically engineering Truffula trees that would produce TWO Truffula heads instead of the inefficient one and grow in half the time. The Swomee Swans could control the spin-off bottling of Trufula Fruit Juice and market it as a cure for Crummie Tummies. If he'd followed this simple marketing plan, we'd all be ass deep in Thneeds by now and they'd have been able to sell the company and retire to Del Boca Vista.

yes, you are very right. but unfortunately the Once-ler was not concerned with sustainable living. he was not thinking of the future. he was only thinking of immediate profits. which is why when all his resources were gone, his family packed up and left him to rot in the filth he created.
